Future Present Labs fabricates custom synthesizer cases and enclosures for desktop synths, controllers, prototype instruments, and boutique audio hardware. We help with the practical mechanical work around panels, side plates, mounting features, PCB fit, connectors, controls, labeling, and assembly.

Synth cases carry the identity of the instrument, but they also have to make the electronics serviceable and playable. Good case design protects the board, supports the controls, exposes the right connectors, avoids awkward cable paths, and gives the product a physical form that matches how it will be used.

Build around the electronics

Most synth case projects should start with the board and control layout. We can review PCB dimensions, connector locations, standoffs, pot and encoder heights, display placement, and cable routing before cutting metal or printing fixtures. If the case needs a new board revision, we can support PCB design and Daisy Seed carrier boards too.

What to send

Send CAD if you have it, plus PCB dimensions, connector locations, control layout, display requirements, material preference, quantity, and finish goals. Photos of similar instruments or prototypes are useful for scoping the first build.
