Part Marking in Seattle
Future Present Labs provides part marking in Seattle for teams that need serial numbers, QR codes, labels, revision marks, panel text, and durable identification on prototype or short-run parts. Marking is especially useful when parts need traceability, clear assembly steps, or field-ready labels.
Industrial marking is different from decoration. The mark needs to be readable after handling, cleaning, assembly, and sometimes coating or field use. That means placement, contrast, size, orientation, and material all matter.
Part marking work
- Serial numbers, revision codes, QR codes, and asset IDs
- Control panels, connector labels, nameplates, and enclosure text
- Machined parts that need permanent identification before shipment
- Small batches with spreadsheet-driven serialization
Marking as part of the build
Part marking works best when it is planned before the part is finished. We can reserve a flat marking area, avoid critical sealing surfaces, and make sure text orientation matches assembly use. If we are also machining the part, engraving can happen as part of the same handoff.
Files and setup
Send vector artwork, CAD, spreadsheet data, font requirements, material, coating information, and quantity. If the mark must scan, survive cleaning, or remain readable after coating, include that requirement early.
Marking details that change the result
QR codes and Data Matrix marks need enough size, quiet zone, and contrast to scan reliably. Serial numbers need a numbering scheme that will not collide with future batches. Panel text needs to be oriented for the user, not just the CAD view. We can help place the mark so it supports assembly and traceability instead of becoming an afterthought.
